Choosing the size that fits the job

The 2.0m3 bin is the smallest in the fleet and the one most jobs start with: a garage tidy-out, a few days of household junk after a move, or a bathroom strip-out. It is easy to load, easy to park on a driveway and quick to take away once it is full.

The 3.5m3 bin is the workhorse of the three. It suits a kitchen or laundry reno, a garage clear-out plus some old furniture, or a pruning job where the branches are stacked rather than bagged.

The 6m3 bin is the big one: a full house clear-out, a deck demolition, a build strip-out, or a run of hard fill and green waste on the same load. If you are unsure between sizes, tell us what the pile is made of and roughly how big it looks, and we will tell you which bin suits it.

Delivery and pick-up

The bins are steel, not plastic, and they are carried on a hook-lift truck, which is why they arrive on the driveway rather than being wheelie-binned to the kerb. That matters on a suburban Christchurch street where a bin dropped in the wrong place can block a footpath or a driveway.

While the bin is with you, load it yourself or tell us what you want gone and we can arrange the heavy lifting as part of the job. When it is full — or when you have finished — send us a message and we arrange the pick-up.

What the bins take

General household rubbish, furniture and appliances, garden and green waste, hard fill such as concrete, brick, soil and sand, and non-hazardous bulk waste are all jobs we take. Recycling and disposals material is handled separately so it can be sorted rather than tipped with general waste.

Tell us the material when you ask for a quote. Hard fill and green waste are different loads to general rubbish, and we would rather size the bin correctly the first time than have a load turned away.
