General rubbish removal
General rubbish is the everyday accumulation: the spare room that has become a store room, the garage after the bikes moved out, the old couches and appliances waiting for a hard-working skip. It is the most common job we do, and it is quoted per job rather than by the bag.
The jobs we take as general rubbish
Furniture, mattresses, appliances, broken household goods, paperwork, packaging, toys, tools and the general detritus that comes with a garage tidy-out or a move. If it is inert, bulky and not green waste or hard fill, it is a general rubbish load.
Renovation leftovers come under the same heading — old skirting, doors, bathroom fittings, flooring and the odd pallet of offcuts that have been sitting in the garage since last winter.
Bag it, or pile it
General rubbish can go into the bin loose or bagged, whatever suits the property. Heavy or sharp items should go in first and be covered, and the load should stay within the bin’s sides so nothing catches on the hook-lift when it is craned away.
If you would rather not move it yourself, say so when you ask for a quote and we will price the job with the loading included.
Where the rubbish goes
We separate what can be separated. Recyclables — plastics, glass, cans and paper — are kept out of the general fill where we can, and the rest is taken to appropriate disposal facilities rather than dumped anywhere convenient. Rubbish removal is only half the job; getting it to the right place is the other half.
